About LUCEM

Founded in 2007 as a spin-off from RWTH Aachen University, LUCEM has evolved into a globally active company specializing in high-end architectural lighting solutions. From the very beginning, the vision was to combine the solidity and authenticity of concrete with the visual lightness and elegance of translucent surfaces, creating an entirely new architectural material.

The innovative concept developed by Dr. Andreas Roye was first presented to an international audience at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, where a four-square-meter installation of translucent concrete was featured in the German Pavilion. This pioneering project marked the beginning of a success story that continues today.

More than 600 realized projects worldwide have established LUCEM as a trusted partner for architects, lighting designers, investors, and developers. Our extensive experience in illuminated façades and architectural elements enables us to deliver solutions that combine technical excellence with exceptional design quality and individuality.

In addition to bespoke solutions tailored to specific architectural requirements, LUCEM offers a comprehensive product portfolio that allows the seamless integration of translucent concrete elements into floors and walls for both interior and exterior applications.
